OPERATIONS

The Operations Division is the backbone of the Franktown Fire Protection District (FFPD). As the largest division within the district, it is comprised of highly trained professionals dedicated to the safety and well-being of our community. Operating out of five strategically located fire stations, our personnel are on duty and ready to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

 

The Operations Division delivers comprehensive life safety services to the residents of Franktown and our surrounding mutual-aid areas. Beyond frontline response, the division provides administrative and tactical oversight for the Training and EMS branches, ensuring our crews remain at the forefront of modern emergency medicine and firefighting tactics.​​

Command & Frontline Personnel

The division is led by a robust command staff and staffed by a dedicated fleet of cross-trained professionals. Every member of our operations team is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic, ensuring that expert medical care arrives with every fire apparatus.

  • 4 Captains (3 Shift Commanders and 1 Training)

  • 22 Firefighters (Including 12 Firefighter/Paramedics)

 

Response Capabilities

Franktown Fire is an all-hazards organization. Our crews are trained and equipped to mitigate a diverse range of complex emergency incidents:

  • Emergency Medical Services: BLS and ALS emergency medical response and transport.

  • Fire Suppression: Structural firefighting and property conservation.

  • Wildland Firefighting: Specialized tactics for our district's unique natural terrain.

  • Vehicle Extrication: Advanced tools and techniques for motor vehicle accidents and physical entrapments.​

  • Technical Rescue: Trench, Collapse, and Confined Space rescue.

  • Water Rescue: Surface water response and recovery.

  • Rope Rescue: Specialized low-angle technical maneuvers.

  • Hazardous Materials: Mitigation of gas leaks, odor investigations, and hazardous substance incidents.
