DEPARTMENT
TRANSPARENCY

At the Franktown Fire Protection District, we believe that public trust is the foundation of effective community service. We are committed to operating with complete transparency, ensuring that our residents have access to the information, policies, and fiscal data that govern our operations. We serve with integrity, and we remain accountable to the individuals and families who entrust us with their safety.

Open Governance & Meetings

We operate in accordance with all state and local open-meeting laws. All meetings of the Board of Directors are open to the public.

  • Schedules: Meeting dates and times are posted in advance on our website and at our headquarters.

  • Records: Agendas are made available prior to meetings, and formal minutes are published promptly following approval to ensure the community is informed of all official actions and decisions.

Fiscal Responsibility

As stewards of public funds, we maintain a policy of strict financial oversight. To ensure our neighbors know exactly how their tax dollars are being utilized, we provide:

  • Annual Budgets: Comprehensive breakdowns of projected revenue and expenditures.

  • Financial Audits: Reports from independent third-party auditors to verify fiscal accuracy and compliance.

  • Capital Planning: Transparency regarding long-term investments in equipment, infrastructure, and personnel.

Public Records Access

In alignment with section 32-1-809, Colorado Revised Statutes for Transparency
Notices, we facilitate the public’s right to access government records. We strive to process all requests for documentation—ranging from incident reports to departmental policies—fairly, accurately, and in a timely manner.

Operational Integrity & Policies

We maintain high standards for professional conduct. Our core operational guidelines, recruitment processes, and safety protocols are developed to meet industry best practices. By making our mission and organizational goals public, we invite the community to join us in our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Community Engagement

Transparency is a two-way street. We encourage active participation from our community members through:

  • Public comment periods during board meetings.

  • Community outreach events and safety education programs.

  • Digital platforms where residents can ask questions and receive direct updates on department activity.
