BURN PERMITS

Are you looking to enjoy an open fire at home? Residential burning is permitted within the Franktown Fire Protection District, provided specific safety requirements are met and no Douglas County Burn Restrictions are in effect.

Burning Requirements:

• Size: Burn piles must be no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet. You may add material to the pile as it burns down.

• Clearance: Piles must be located at least 50 feet away from any building or structure.

• Materials: Only natural wood or yard debris may be burned. Burning trash is strictly prohibited.

• Safety: A reliable water source must be immediately available on-site.

 

How to Obtain a Burn Permit
